First Time Second US Passport
You can apply for a second US passport if:
- You travel internationally so frequently that, due to time constraints, have difficulty obtaining traveling visas between trips.
- You need the second passport for your safety and security for example for traveling to Israel and anti Israel states.
NOTE: Second passports are valid for only 2 years and can be renewed, if necessary. Second passports are issued at the State Department's discretion.
Please don't hold on to your application and other paperwork when signed and dated. Send them to us ASAP. Once the documents are dated they must be in our office within four calendar days, and submitted to the Government on the fifth day; applications will be rejected if not submitted within five calendar days from signed date.
For us to process your request properly and on time you MUST send International Passport and Visa Service Request Form with the following documents:
1 - International Passport & Visa Authorization Letter International Passport & Visa Authorization Letter, completed and signed.
2 - Primary Valid U.S. Passport Your 10 year passport.NOTE: If your primary passport has a validity of less than one year, you have to renew your primary passport first and then apply for the second passport.
3 - U.S. Passport Application Form DS-82, create your DS-82 by going through the online process at the Department of State website.Note: Application is not compatible with Safari web browser.
5 - Proof of Travel Copy of your travel itinerary OR a business letter on your company’s letter.You have to provide proof of travel overseas in the next 2 weeks (if no visa is required) and in the next 4 weeks (if a visa is required).
6 - Letter for Second Valid Passport A request letter for Second Valid Passport, completed and signed.
