Provide your valid, original and signed passport. A visa is a stamp or sticker applied to the passport by the embassy or consulate, therefore the original passport is required.

  • at least six (6) months remaining validity
  • at least two (2) completely blank visa pages available

Two (2) passport style photos.

  • 2" x 2" size
  • white background
  • taken within 6 months

Copy of your round-trip airline tickets, or itinerary or e-ticket, or letter of confirmation from a travel agent.

  • The itinerary must show the applicant's name, date of arrival and departure from the country, and flight information.
  • If you have not purchased your tickets, please call us (310-274-2020) to further assist you.

Applicant must provide copies of their bank statement showing sufficient funds to travel.

It is advisable to erase account numbers from your bank statements.

A copy of your hotel confirmation(s) is required.

A copy (original is not required) of a International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required.

For minors, in addition to the aforementioned requirements, the following documents are also needed:

  1. Notarized letter of support jointly signed by both parents or legal guardians agreeing with the trip and specifying who will be traveling with the child.
  2. If parents or guardians are Cameroonians, provide original passport(s) and copy of immigration document(s) attesting of their residency status in the U.S. (e.g. green card, I-20 form for students, any set of documents justifying that a procedure of adjustment of status is in progress).
  3. If parents or guardians are not Cameroonians, provide copy of passport pages bearing photo and validity information.
  4. This applies to any third party taking a child to Cameroon on behalf of the parents.

Additional Info

  • All non-Cameroonian nationals residing in the United States or abroad are required to obtain a visa to travel to Cameroon, Cameroon-born U.S. citizens who are naturalized Americans and hold an American passport must also obtain a visa to travel to Cameroon, U.S. permanent residents (green card holders), regardless of their citizenship, U.S. legal residents regardless of their citizenship: for example, non-U.S. citizens residing in the United States on an F-1 student visa, or J-1 exchange visitor status, or holders of H1B work visas, persons who are dependents under the aforementioned categories, etc.

    However, non-U.S. citizens currently in the United States on a visitor’s (B1 or B2) visa must be aware that they are not eligible to obtain a Cameroonian visa from at the Embassy in Washington, D.C.

  • The Embassy of Cameroon in Washington D.C. has territorial jurisdiction over the UNITED STATES of AMERICA, MEXICO, COSTA RICA and the COMMONWEALTH of the BAHAMAS.

  • Processing Times – The processing time for all visa applications is approximately SEVEN (7) business days, EXCEPT for Diplomatic and Courtesy visas. Travelers should plan their trip accordingly and are advised to apply for visas early, as the Embassy will not be able to accommodate travelers who fail to submit their visa applications in time due to their lack of planning.

  • Single and Multiple-entry visas – Single and Multiple-entry visas for all visa types may be granted. The decision to grant Single and Multiple-entry visas to travelers going to Cameroon will be made as deemed appropriate by the Embassy of Cameroon.

  • Visa duration – The duration of a visa will be granted as deemed appropriate by the Embassy of Cameroon.

  • If shipping your documents to us, processing times do not include return shipping estimates.
  • Processing times and fees are subject to change without notice.
  • Consulate fees may require a U.S. Postal Money Order. A $15 fee applies if IPV obtains a money order on your behalf. If providing your own U.S. Postal Money Order for your visa application, the fee will be waived.
