3 – U.S. Passport Card Application
- If you have a U.S. passport book and are eligible to renew your passport (as an adult your most recent passport has not been issued to you more that 15 years ago) Form DS-82 applies to you.
Create your DS-82 by going through the online process (MUST be done online) at the Department of State website.
- If it is time to renew your passport book you can apply for your passport card at the same time.
- If it is not time to renew your passport book you should submit your passport book when you apply for your passport card.
When prompted on the application “Where should the passport be mailed?”, simply put your home address when using our service, there is no mailing involved as we hand deliver and pick up passports from the passport office.
At the end of the application there is a summary of passport fees. You will not be prompted to pay for anything online. This is just used as a breakdown of charges so people are aware of the costs. Since you are using our services, don’t select any of the boxes and bypass the “Summary of Fees” page and click on “Submit”.

5 – Proof of Travel
Copy of your travel itinerary OR a business letter on your company’s letter.
You have to provide proof of travel overseas in the next 2 weeks (if no visa is required) and in the next 4 weeks (if a visa is required).
INFORMATION – US PASSPORT CARD
US Department of States began production of the US Passport Card on July 14, 2008. Processing times are similar to those of a passport book. The purpose for the new wallet-size US Passport Card is to facilitate entry and expedite document processing at US land and sea ports-of-entry when arriving from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda. This is in response to the needs of border resident communities for a less expensive and more portable alternative to the traditional passport book. The passport card is more convenient and less expensive than a passport book.
Note that a US passport card cannot be used for international air travel or travel by air. It will otherwise carry the rights and privileges of the US passport book and will be adjudicated to the exact same standards.
Validity of a US passport card is the same as the passport book.
To increase speed, efficiency, and security at U.S. land and sea border crossings, the passport card contains a vicinity-read radio frequency identification (RFID) chip. This chip points to a stored record in secure government databases. There is no personal information written to the RFID chip itself.
With RFID technology, Customs and Border Protection inspectors will be able to access photographs and other biographical information stored in secure government databases as the traveler approaches an inspection station.
The US passport card uses state-of-the-art security features to prevent against the possibility of counterfeiting and forgery. In addition, a protective, RFID-blocking sleeve is provided with each passport card to protect against unauthorized reading or tracking of the card when it is not in use.
